FFF - Pajama Party

Well I know this doesn't look like the typical Pajama Party, but this was what our Pajama party looked like last night in the ER. Karaline went roller skating with some friends of ours and i just had this gut feeling when I sent her that it wasn't a good thing. John, Kollin, Karson, Kemry, and I were on a walk through our neighborhood (Karly was at a friend's house too) when I got a frantic call from the mom. She was sure it was broken and Karaline was crying for me and she didn't know what to do. We threw little Karson on John's back and started RUNNING back to our house and they nearly had her at our house by the time we got back. When I saw it I thought, "WOW, that doesn't look bad at all'" It wasn't swollen and was slightly bruised, but Karaline was in so much pain I knew it was something. we went on to the ER, and it was. It is a green stick fracture. She caught herself on the way down and "compressed" both her radius and ulna near her wrist. She is splinted tonight and will get a cast tomorrow at the orthopedic surgeon's office. Believe it or not, this is our first Cash family fracture (and on our MOST cautious, careful child)! We're experts on x-rays and sprains, but no broken bones until last night.
~~~~~
This morning we met with the orthopedic surgeon for the cast. She chose green, her favorite color. :) She felt a LOT better this morning than she did last night.
Here's my sweet girl faking a smile...it was really starting to hurt her without her splint and sling.
Who would think this is broken? It is barely swollen, and you can hardly see the bruise.
Then came the casting
It's burning up inside mom mom! Then came the cool green. :)
That's it....no getting it wet for 4-6 weeks. They had many reasons they wouldn't do a waterproof cast. We are a water-loving family, so this is going to be HARD. If anyone has any tips on ways to keep this thing dry for the pool, lake, ocean, tub, pleeeeeeease let me know! :)
climbers
GUESS WHAT?????
She already figured out how to get into the playfort. We were sitting on the deck and glanced over to see her standing in there....sent us into panic mode to get there before she fell out! If anyone has any advise on what we can do now, I'd love to hear it! :) If you look underneath the playfort at the ladder in the back where John is standing, you can see how high the first step is (it's up at John's thigh). She can still pull herself with her arms until her feet reach it.
I love this picture of the girls. Karly has those little tree pollen things in her hair and Kemry is SO FOCUSED on getting it out without looking.
Aren't they sweet?
We had family over for a cookout for John's birthday and the kids had a blast. I had bought them the 3-D sidewalk chalk and kids AND adults played with it most of the afternoon. lol It really is neat!
Here is my sister Kasey. I have been trying so hard to talk her into adopting a sibling group of 3 in the Philippines I saw on a photolisting and fell in love with. She would be the greatest mom to them!
John's birthday "punch bowl cake". Alex is helping him blow out his candle.
I was able to get some good SITTING STILL pictures of the older 3 kids while playing outside too.
Earlier that morning, Kollin was presented an award for high achievements in a regional math contest by our school board.
His black eye is finally starting to fade! Can you believe he just bumped his cheek with his knee and it caused that?
Karaline at her last day of school riding the babies on the sea saw with Kemry.
Believe it or not, Kemry got up there and changed her mind! Usually she's flying to the top of whatever she's on! LOL Alex wanted her out of his way!
She LOVES the sea saw
Alex and Karaline going down the slide....love their faces Karaline swinging Kemry in the swing...she's such a good big sister.
Daddy and Kemry acting silly!
Who would think a broken tree branch would create hours of fun for our kids????
Bentley begging for his ball to be thrown...Even though he's in MAJOR need of a bath here, I thought it was a cute picture!
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Climbers
The rest of the story....
right up that ladder like an old pro
Don't look at her dirty clothes....we had played outside for hours and hours in the dirt at this point. :D It was the first day of summer break.
This pic was horrible quality but I was taking it with my left hand while I guarded Kemry from falling with my right hand. These cameras aren't designed for left handed pictures. lol She's workin' hard....puuuuuush! That last step burns!
And this is where yesterday's FFF post fits in! Her proud face at the top of the fort.
WOOAH look how high I am
I love this cutie pie smile
So whiel she was up there all the kids wanted to be with her of course and I sure could use the help blocking her from falling out. I tried to get a good pic of all of them together. #1 Kemry was obsessed with that old marker she found and it kept her from jumping out so I let her keep it. #2 Kemry had just eaten dirt earlier and spit it out all over her clothes (no biggie...that outfit was ready for the trash before I put it on her which is why I put it on her to play outside in). #3 her hair was crazy...I could go on and on. LOL
I just LOOOOOOOVE these little guys!
ALMOST a good one :)
Kemry fell backward here and I thought it was cute how everyone rushed to her aid.
All done taking pictures, time to saw off the bottom step. Drastic climbers require drastic measures. LOL
Kollin didn't enjoy this at all lol
~~~

I really love some of the pictures I got of the kids this same day, but I will save them for a later post. There are so many and I want to post them all! :)

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!!!!! My amazing hubby has a birthday today!!!!!! I couldn't ask for a better husband, father to my children, or best friend. He isn't afraid to roll up his sleeves and do the dirty work of being a dad. From changing diapers to going to doctor's appts, to washing bottles, to mending a broken heart, he takes it head on. He spoils me rotten and dedicates his life ot making his family happy!!
